nordic research network glasgow 2016
The Nordic Research Network would like to invite you to an interdisciplinary day conference for Postgraduates and Early Career researchers to be held at the University of Glasgow on May 4th 2016, entitled "Bridges Between: Norse and Insular Worlds AD 500-1500."
We are also happy to announce our keynote speaker will be Dr. Steve Ashby of the University of York. Dr. Ashby is a medieval archaeologist specialising in the archaeology of portable material culture and the use of animal products in craft and industry, and his work on Viking combs is of particular importance. His talk is entitled: " Bridging the Great Divide: between science and theory in the medieval north". We look forward to welcoming Dr. Ashby to the University of Glasgow on the 4th May.
You can also download the final version of the conference programme here.
The delegate fee is £10 for the day, including all tea/coffee breaks and lunch. This is reduced to £5 if you are a member of our co-sponsor organisation, the Scottish Society for Northern Studies. If you would like to become a member, click here for further details. We would also love it if you can make it our informal conference dinner at Inn Deep (£10 additional cost).
The Scottish Archaeological Research Framework is also providing a small number of bursaries to delegates who are students. For full details and to find out more about ScARF and our other sponsors, please visit our sponsors' page.
