NORDIC RESEARCH NETWORK LONDON 2016

BRIDGES BETWEEN: INTERCULTURAL EXCHANGES AND THE MODERN NORDIC WORLD

The Nordic Research Network, in collaboration with the Institute for Modern Languages Research, invites contributions to an interdisciplinary day conference on 11 November 2016, engaging — according to the broadest possible interpretations — with the theme of ‘Bridges Between’. At the most basic level, this theme can be read as one of intercultural connection. The conference, which is a counterpart to that of the Nordic Research Network which took place in Glasgow in May 2016 (focusing on the period 500-1500), will explore connections, influences, interplay and networks in modern and contemporary Nordic cultures and cultural production.
Aside from the research focus of the event, a key objective of the Nordic Research Network in holding it is the building of networks and connections within and between the various disciplines represented, as well as between colleagues at various stages of their careers, in particular between graduate students and early career researchers.
If you wish to present at this conference, please send a title, abstract (≤200 words) and a short biographical note including your institutional affiliation (≤50 words) to
[email protected] by 15 June 2016. The organising committee will review all submissions, and you will be notified of the outcome shortly thereafter.
